Sunday...I think

Good evening all.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, I've been very busy with work and stuff. I originally started writing this on Sunday night but I fell asleep so I apologise for the delay.

So what have I been up to since last time? I've been working for the past seven days and I gotta say, I love my job. I work at a gadget shop called Red 5 (I don't know/remember whether I mentioned this before), It's really cool! All the people that work there are great and really nice guys. The best part of my job is demoing all of the products like remote control helicopters & Chinooks, crossbows plus showing my badass skills on a Tech Deck and bouncing amazing rave balls amongst other things. Officially I am a christmas temp but I am really hoping that I get kept on permanent like.

I really do need to start preparing for my exams after christmas, there is a lot for me drill into the old cranium before then. I have been fitting about an hours practice every now and then but in my opinion I need to up my game.

Right now I'm watching Gavin & Stacey with my lovely girlfriend Becki. I gotta say I absolutely love this show it's brilliant; it has such a feel good factor about it and is just so funny.
We went to see that movie "Nativity" yesterday...It's amazing. Another fine example of superb British film making. I definitely recommend going to see it.

Well I'm off now, I will make sure that I keep the input on this regular.

Success!

Hello all,

It'll only be a quick one today because I'm cotching with my beautiful girlfriend and my family.

I had my driving test today...and I passed!!! I was so happy when I found out because at one point in the test I thought I had failed but it turns out I am a pro! I passed with only 3 minors aswell! haha. Well I just thought I'd let you all know that I have finally passed after a year of having lessons. Now all I have to do is get a car and then afford the insurance... Well anyways, I start my job tomorrow at Red5 (pretty much a gadget shop, it's pretty cool). I'll chat more tomorrow.

Evening/very early morning all!

To begin with, that book I was on about yesterday was called "something to do". Ok.

So today...well not much happened today to be honest. I was at Becki's last night, we had to sleep downstairs again. It was sad to say goodbye to her grandma and auntie because I'm not going to see them again, well not for a while anyways. I know Becki is going to be very upset when they leave so I'm going to give it my best effort to do whatever I can to make sure she is happy.

When I got home this morning the first thing I did was have a bowel of cheerios; remember when I spoke about the bowl that was absolutely brilliant? yeah? Well this one topped it, I just don't know how they do it! Pure culinary genius (I don't know whether making cereal is classed as actual cooking but oh well, so sue me). The second thing I did was go to the car with my Dad to run through my "Show me, Tell me" test. I did pretty well he said which I'm glad about. I like spending time with my Dad even if it is when doing little things like that, it still feels like quality time.
I decided to tidy my room, properly this time, as I am planning on rearranging it soon. It took me longer than it should of because I watched all of the Bourne movies whilst doing it and I had a lunch break, 3 coffee breaks and around 15 juice breaks. But atleast now it is done! I'm just waiting on Dad to put my guitar stands on my wall so that my "Guitar Boudoir" looks uber cool.
Later on in the afternoon my good friends Jordan & Lee picked me up from home and we then went to Central Studios to record a new Yearbook song entitled "fingertips in". It is a really good song but it is even better on track because they are using my kickass Orange Tiny Terror and PPC112 cab! boo ya.

So my driving test is tomorow (well today really, but I haven't awoke yet), after a year of learning it all boils down to this 40 minutes... I should do ok I'm just going to treat it as a normal driving lesson, atleast that way I'll only be laying a small brick. Lolozordroflking, I joke I joke. I love driving but I'm still nervous. I should be ok. I hope.

Well it is about time I hit the proverbial hay. Until tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

Much Love x

p.s. here's a link for this band that I have always have soft spot for, I haven't given them a listen for quite some time which is a shame. They deserve my ears.

Things to do.

Bonsoir.

Regardless of what people say, you are never too old to go to town with your mum. On this topic, I went to town with my mum today. This was after I had realized that my driving lesson was today when I was at my Grandads house; I had thought it was tomorrow morning but it turns out...well it turns out it was today, luckily I was only 10 minutes late. Aside from that, the lesson went well and I am feeling 92% confident about my test.
So anyways, I went to town with my mum to do a bit of christmas shopping (for me mostly rofl lol lmao megafunnywins). We went into a newish bookshop in town, can't remember what it is called, which turned out to be not that bad. I got Becki's wee sis Lucy a book called "Lucy and the Bully" and I found this other book called "Things to do" (I think, can't remember) which I bought for myself; my motive for buying it was that it looked really, really cool. Eventually I will give it a read just to see what it is about.
I am now at Becki's house, watching Gavin & Stacey whilst snuggled up on the sofa, we're sleeping downstairs again tonight. It's time like this that mean the world to me. We don't even talk much but just being in each other's company speaks more than words...(oscar winning speech), plus it's hard to hear her over the sound of her hamster's wheel squeaking...

Tomorrow my dad said he would run through the "Show me, Tell me" test that is conducted at the beginning of the practical test. I've been doing a fair bit of revision but I still haven't done enough.

Well I'm off now. Until tomorrow :) I'm beginning to become much more consistent with my blogging haha.

Much love x

p.s I really really want an Eggle Berlin pro guitar but the fact that they are now discontinued and priced between £600-£900 makes it a bit more difficult. But what I am thinking of doing is buying an Ibanez Jet King and doing it up myself and whatnot. What do you think?

p.p.s I didn't get my hair cut.

Tapes.

Evening all, how are we?

Today has been fairly chillaxed to be honest. I awoke from a lovely sleep next to becki and had the best bowl of Cheerios EVER. I don't know what made this particular bowl taste so scrumptious, maybe it was just the magic of the oats, corn, rice and wheat that made it so nutritious and delicious. Anyways, after my breakfast, I said my goodbyes to Becki and sat infront of the telly and chilled until up to 2ish I think? On that note I have to say that some of the things that are on telly these days is ridiculous! I mean Ghost Whisperer...really? I remember the golden ages of television! Anybody remember Diggin' It and Up on the Roof?.

I'm now at my Grandad's house. I gotta say I really do love that guy.; he still remains to be my hero after all these years. The best thing is that he loves the company, you can tell because he becomes all talkative. I feel bad though because I honestly should come and stay round here more often, in all honesty I do love coming over here because I have some of the best conversations with him and I could sit listening to him for ages. It is incredible how grandparents always have a story for any occasion; I just hope that I have an eventfull life so I can share my stories in the future.

John Mayers new album, Battle Studies, is simply brilliant. I've been hearing complaints about how it's nothing compared to Continuum but at the end of the day Mayer said himself that he wasn't going to try and top Continuum, he could only move aside and start afresh. In my opinion that was a good plan, and he executed it perfectly. Bravo Mr.Mayer. Bravo.

Might get my hair cut tomorrow. Might not. Indecisiveness, the bane of my life.

Much Love x

The Chronicle of an extra

Wow what a weekend it has been. On Saturday Callum, Andy and I all drove down to a woodland area near an M.O.D base somewhere in Andover to be extras in an independant movie called "Patrol Men". We arrived on the scene to be welcomed by a cold, dreary landscape accompanied by a pinch of rain and a splash of mud. I think at first the film crew were a bit funny about the lousy weather conditions, but I personally thought that it suited the soon to be filmed battle scene; there was something about lame ass weather that complimented the Orwellian theme of the movie.
We were armed with the deadliest of weapons that a warrior could use, gardening tools. I was so lucky to have been equipped with a Hoe that had a screw loose. Now armed and ready, it was time to shoot. I really have to give it to the professional extras, how the hell they don't laugh when the camera is on them I'll never know. It was even harder to keep a serious face when running down a hill unleashing my brutal, bloodcurdling battle cry.
The rain was beginning to get to me as it slowly seeped through my clothes. But then I was given an actual role! I had to knock down one of the Patrol Men with my now broken hoe (Oh i forgot to mention, Callum and I were getting a bit excited and I snapped my hoe in half, god rest her soul); I think I did quite a good job as "the guy who knocks down a patrol man" I did it second take and that mofo dropped like a sack of potatoes! haha.
Then we had lunch.
The next scene was a fight in the woods. Andy had offered to be an extra patrol man but little did he know that he would be tied to a tree (,get a boner) and then get impaled by my hoe! Yes yes, I got a close up shot! I had fake blood and a kickass contusion on my face. Callum also had a closeup scene, he was meant to be kicking in an ,on the floor, patrol man but he ended up looking like a guy angrily wiping his shoes on a door mat. So after all that filming the rain started to get to us, our clothes were wet, our skin was soggy and our hair made us look like greasy asses. At around half 4ish the film crew called it a rap for a day; they then told us that they were off to film a topless scene...All in all it was a really surreal yet good day. I would definitely do it again! All of the cast were lovely and the sandwiches were interesting (Egg and lettuce, Chorizo, plus banna and chocolate cake, I could go on). Let's just hope that the movie does go on DVD and that I make it big and then end up in papers with photo-shopped pictures of me doing meth with winehouse and the gang.

Sunday has been a lovely day, I've been relazing about Becki's house and watching telly and ting. Just watched X factor, so Jedward are finally out. Part of me began to feel sorry for them as they sung their last song but I suppose it's not the end for them. But I still find them annoying, I'm sure they are lovely people though.

Well that's enough for today. Sorry for the essay! Have a wonderful evening.

One more thing...Kevin Spacey is simply brilliant.

Much Love

p.s For those interested, here's the trailer for the Patrol Men. Enjoy!

So far...

Bit of a lame day. It just seems to be one of those days where not everything is going exactly how you wanted it to. I suppose it's only fair to go through a rough day every now and then. Hasn't been terrible though! At the moment I'm just cotching at uni, listening to this town needs guns and looking for an Eggle guitar that I can afford (Not that I could afford one now anyways; I'm pretty sure nobody is going to sell me one for £53).

I've got my performance today, this week we're doing Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder (Sorry if I'm repeating myself). I've been looking forward to this song for weeks now! We have a brass section coming in for breakdown! All I can say is brilliance is on the agenda for this afternoon. I do wish that Ash could have come in for the song though; she is a brilliant singer and this song would have been great! But oh well she is still a great friend none the less.

I'm really happy for Becki today. Her grandma comes over from Ireland for the first time in ages. It'll be good for Becki to see her again because she always go on about Ireland and how much she misses and quite frankly it's the least she deserves :). Plus I won't mind seeing her aswell, she is a very lovely person haha.

Wish me luck for this afternoon!

much love x

Aztecs, in the Night Garden...

(In advance I apologize for the lack of posts that this blog suffers from. Of course this only applies to those who care)

Last night was fun; I went out with my friends Callum, Kieran, Jordan, Hamish and Andy lolzperday. We were having a joint celebration of Jordan's birthday, Jordan passing his driving test and Jordan's uncanny likeliness to the great Stephen Fry. I prefer going out for a nice drink instead of clubbing, I always have, I'm not really a fan of the whole clubbing ting; Not that that applies to everybody who goes but I'm generally not a fan.

On the same night Andy asked if we wanted to be extras in a zombie movie on Saturday (and yes we obviously said yes). That should be really exciting! I've never done anything like it so it will be another addition to my list of interesting things I've done.

Uni is going great! This week the song we are performing is Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. Such a brilliantly written song.
I've been thinking long and hard about my future recently; the most thought about topic is "what am I going to be doing as a career?". To be honest, this thought terrifies me, I know what I WANT to do (be a musician of sorts, possibly a session guitarist?) but what am I going to actually be doing in the future? Nobody knows (except for maybe for Mystic Meg and other masters of that trade). As long as I work hard towards my goal and improve my abilities as a musician and as a human being I'm sure that I can decide the outcome.

To be totally off subject, don't you just love it when you find a new quotation?! It's brilliant, especially when you can all of a sudden find so many ways to apply it in conversation. Here's my new favorite quote:

"Never argue with an idiot; He will drag you down to
his level and beat you on experience"

-Anonymous

Well I think it's anonymous. Might look into it.

On one last note, 1 year with Becki. It has been the best year ever. I love her.
(I think that sums it up pretty well=])

Until next time,

much love x
